Online Video - The Key to Increasing Avg. Time Spent on a Website

One commonly overlooked aspect of SEO is the average amount of time a visitor spends on a website. You can have all the best SEO practices in place, but if the content isn't appealing to the visitor, they may simply leave your site seconds after visiting it.

That's why it's crucial to have online video on your website. A search engine doesn't know whether the individual is reading the content on the page, or simply watching a :30 second or :60 video instead. In fact, the longer you can get an visitor to stay on a particular website watching a video the better.

The best approach in our professional opinion is to build a page with multiple short, related videos on it, or a video player that contains all of the videos. This way, you aren't showing visitors videos that drag on, rather they are watching multiple shorter videos, and are less likely to bounce away from the page quickly.

Here's an example of a recent video page we created for a client:

And on top of having the videos hosted on their own website, we constructed a personalized YouTube page for the client to ensure that individuals searching for related video topics online would also find them.
